As prices rise, people will learn to quit wasting so much electricity. They could get by with 1/2 of the electricity currently consumed. Half of the offices in San Jose leave their lights on 24 hours a day. 1. Residents of San Jose/Silicon Valley are among the smartest people in the world according to sum. 2. These people voted 2-1 for Gore I rest my case. Intelligence is not a virtue and inventions do not equal civilization. Why limit production of energy, why not limit the water, it is much more a limit on civilization than any other single item. When you get down to this it is much easier to control everything else, like whether you can have a pool (no!), a spa (hell, no!), or an extra bathroom (permitted process aka graft).
