"Interactive TV will be as big a flop as Web TV and the W2K scare"

I think this statement reveals a lack of imagination. I would speculate that a "Survivor" type of program in which the audience got to decide who stays and who goes might be quite popular. Then there's home shopping. Of course, a program here and there isn't going to support the infrastructure required but if the concept of convergence has any validity, then there's going to have to be a fair amount of interactivity as the 'net and TV meld. We've got a classic "chicken and egg" problem here. Interactive programming needs interactivity and interactivity won't happen without programming. However, once it gets going, it will, I speculate, prove popular.
