It's a strange idea to assert that everyone has the ability to learn to trade (or "trade what you see" as you put it). So for those 90% or more who never succeed, are they just stupid?

No, why stupid... Many were never presented to this concept and stuck with endless attempts to analyze news, fundamentals etc. Some of those who were presented never felt the truth in this (may be teacher failed to present it right, may be concept was too foreign to student) and choose to stay with conventional ways. Finally, some of those who honestly tried still failed to get a grip on their emotions... but it still doesn't look to me like it was lack of some specific talent that led to failure.

I respectfully disagree with violinist analogy :) What is necessary for successful trading is learnable and teachable, IMO.

Wanted also to say that irrelevant of whether we agree or not, I enjoy discussion and value your opinion very much. I read too many great posts from you on this and other threads. Too bad we don't discuss in Russian, I might have more arguments! :)
