It's too late to defeat cdma2000 in the US....the best they can hope to achieve at this point is a draw. If unicom goes ahead with it plans to build out cdma in China, its all but over.....cdma2000 will then have the upper hand in North America, South America, and all of Asia with a massive time-to-market and technological advantage. HDR is not absolutely necessary to achieve this.
