Prophet,

of course they don't admit that they infringe

There have been about 10,000 posts on this thread where Rambus longs said that signing equals acceptance of Rambus IP. Now you are saying that isn't true? LOL

where is the alleged comment about "protecting Sega?

The thinly veiled threat that Rambus used against Hitachi and Sega, was to cut off Sega imports (giving PS2 a nice "clean" dirty win in the US.) Sometimes investors have to use their prophetic powers to make the right decision.

Here is a good post showing the typical "damn the torpedos and the truth" attitude of rmBS investors:

Good point! I even remember him starting by saying something like "if it goes to trial" then they won't want to give Hitachi the license. I'm sure they'd love to settle before the lawyer's bills really start piling up.

My guess is that Hitachi would have to have fairly irrefutable proof that the patents are solid to back down now, settle, and start paying royalties on the SDRAM, DDR DRAM, and SH microprocessors they have shipped in the past and continue to ship.
