Auric I haven't done enough homework yet, I assume you are on the short side.

From the long side these DSL stocks are cheap. I have been focusing on the optical end, as you may recall. Actually I think it was 5 years ago when I followed ADSL. However I think the opticals have reached the upper limit of their valuations, for the time being.

I noticed recently, that some DSL stocks were moving off their lows.

The following article refers to solutions for the whole networking mess. The models refered to in this article, still include DSL. The problem focused on in this article is the streamlining and intergration of everything. .http://www.telechoice.com/whitepapers/Alleviating%20the%20Pain%20inToday's%20Edge%20Networks2.pdf

I may have come across this here on this board, anyway, Acatel in another article, seems to be doing a great deal of business in DSL, 53% of the world mkt. It may be more a function of how much the individule DSL/ADSL vendor has their act together. WSTL 4000 box that handles mutiple componet access, sounds pretty good.

Obviously cable or DSL/ADSL are not the ultimate solution, but rather represent broader band access, for the time being. This moves the whole advance of technology and its use forward, while we wait for the real Optical thing.

Acatel has multiple grades of DSL, VDSL being one, a high speed form. If I recall, one of these grades of DSL allows for the real time down load of multi media, just like cable.

Auric, I like you, thought DSL was dead in the water, but watching, the slow steady advance of another $2- stock DSL stock $4+ recently, made me take a second look, at this sector. That co. is focusing on providing broadband access to the specific, small and mid size business, mkt.
