Another thought I had was putting half the money in one account and half in another and buying stock in one account while immediately writing calls. then in the other account I would short the exact same stock and sell puts.

this way I could collect premium both ways, and it wouldnt matter whether the stock went up or down.

I know that if the stock moves dramatically in either direction, this strategy probably becomes a loser, but in a flat or mildly trending market, this seems like a no brainer.
