Re: Picking Chicago over Denver

Of the locations considered, Chicago is about 2 hours closer in flying time to Europe then the others. My guess is that factor was what determined the choice. Boeing's trying hard to avoid losing its remaining European customers, and this will locate their executives nearly 4 hours closer than they were in Seattle.

Dan, I never heard Boeing say this...what they have said here is that they want to be closer to NYC and DC....butI think they may be whistling dixie if it is true that they want to be closer to Europe for the reason you state above.

First, you have to assume that the airlines of the 3 major European nations, Ger., UK, and Fra.[and maybe Spain too...I am not sure]that are part of Airbus consortium will buy mostly from Airbus. These are some of the largest airlines in Europe. In addition, and I will deny I ever posted this and will make SI delete it <g> if ever repeated, but many people in the aerospace biz think Airbus has the better product line right now[oh, why am I posting this...I may be forced to move soon]. In addition, Airbus, although no longer private, appears to be giving better inducements to get airlines to buy in general. I think its those two reasons, particularly the latter, that are prompting the other European airlines buy Airbus.
