HONG KONG -- Pacific Century Cyberworks Ltd. (PCW) said Monday it has appointed former Swire Properties executive Michael Moir as managing director of the company's infrastructure and real estate division.
PCCW's announcement of the appointment comes several weeks after Moir assumed the position on April 17.
Moir's responsibilities include defining strategy and directions for PCCW's infrastructure and real estate business. This includes tracking and providing for the company's technical infrastructure requirements.
Moir, 51, worked for construction company Ove Arup and Partners from 1972 to 1981.
Moir worked at Swire Properties from 1981 to 1999. From 1981 to 1989, Moir was involved with Swire properties' large-scale residential, commercial and hotel developments. From 1989 to 1991 Moir was general manager for development and valuations, overseeing land acquisitions, development, planning and property valuations. From 1991 to 1999, Moir headed the development and valuation department at Swire and was responsible for the growth of the company's 17.2 million square foot portfolio investment and development in both Hong Kong and China.
Moir moved to Scotland in 1999, where he worked as a property investment consultant, with the Hong Kong Housing Authority as one of his clients.
