Zurich Global Energy, a part of Zurich Financial Services Group, named Paul Schappacher director of Asia-Pacific property at its new Melbourne, Australia, office.

He will be responsible for developing the energy property business, as well as coordinating the casualty and exploration and production client business within the region.

Prior to joining Zurich Global Energy, Mr. Schappacher was with AIG, where he was energy manager for Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.

Chief Executive

AusMarkets.com, a wholesale financial markets Internet portal, appointed Simon Narroway as chief executive.

Mr. Narroway was an executive investment banker at Westpac Banking and Kleinwort Benson. AusMarkets was founded last year by Australia's four largest banks -- Westpac, Australia & New Zealand Banking Group, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and National Australia Bank.

PCCW Appoints

Managing Director

Pacific Century CyberWorks appointed Michael Moir as managing director of its infrastructure and real-estate division. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Mr. Moir previously worked as a property-investment consultant in Scotland, while retaining his connections in Hong Kong as a consultant to the Hong Kong Housing Authority. Before returning to Scotland in 1999, he headed Swire Properties's development and valuation department.

Teruo Shimamura

To Be Nikon's COO

Nikon appointed a new company president and introduced an executive officer system, effective June 28.

The Japanese camera maker said Teruo Shimamura, a director, becomes president and chief operating officer. Current President Shoichiro Yoshida will become chairman and chief executive officer.

AT&T Business Names

Vice President

AT&T Asia Pacific Group appointed Yoichiro Yatsurugi vice president of AT&T Business for the Asian-Pacific region. He succeeds Jon Stretch, who will take up the position of vice president of AT&T Business for Europe, Middle East and Africa, effective immediately.

Mr. Yatsurugi heads up the Asian-Pacific operations of AT&T Business, which offers a comprehensive portfolio of data communications and networking services. Mr. Yatsurugi is also president of AT&T Japan and president of AT&T Global Network Services Japan, an AT&T/NTT joint venture.

Michio Kono Joins

Whitney Group

Whitney Group, an international executive search firm, said Michio Kono has joined its financial-services team to carry out search assignments in Tokyo.

She joins from the recruitment firm Robert Walters in Hong Kong where she focused on senior-level placements in the financial-services market in Japan. She will continue to be based in Hong Kong.
