Chaos frightens those who do evil to do good. All who do evil know that they are a bit evil but rationalize it with their goal, which is to do ultimate good for a good rate of pay. It is hard to be a nice guy and finish first or last. Everyone wants to be last but unless we have a new clear war nobody gets to be last without paying too high a price.
In the end all edifices are too hard to keep from decay. Only ideas can sustain throughout all, the evil that man will bring upon himself in the name of good. That is why Christianity endured and Rome did not, unless you accept as I do, that the Capital of Rome is now Washington. After all, it is a seat of power, and power flows from the consensus of fear of itself, and is not the seat of freedom. If there were a capital of freedom all gov'ts would band together to vanquish it.
Freedom only exists where all men put it above all else. Is it at war with security, that men use to justify their secret power? Is it safe to apportion to men and women or must it be in constant revolution to survive?
Every man a king, and freedom will be secure.
The only evil we should ever fear is that which we construct with care for our own governance and that which gives to men unchecked, a power to decide the fate of others in our own pantheon.
Only fear bad organization, never chaos.
