Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think your idea to separate your holdings into categories is a good one, I've thought along those lines but never actually had any discipline to adhere to it. I've recently decided to hold parts of positions instead of selling all of a stock in case it still goes up after I've sold it but I cant even do that all the time. ONe of my problems is I've always got another new stock I want to put money into, and instead of mailing a check to ole Chuck Schwab I just sell something else so I can buy the new stock. Pretty dumb strategy in a market where everything is going up...

At least I'm learning and hopefully once I get it right there will still be some legs left in this bull market.
