Does Fleet pay the rebates on your card on time? I was thinking I would switch to their cash rebate card after I am done with the GM Card.

creditcards.fleet.com

But I saw a lot of negative posts concerning Fleet at this site:

boardserver.mycomputer.com Click search, enter Fleet, click search to see the posts if you're interested.

One of the major complaints being that Fleet didn't pay their rebates on the above card until April, when due in early February.

I have a Fleet card now with a 0% rate until July. I monitor it very closely after reading a lot of the complaints. Generally I disregard complaints about interest rates being hiked up, because I approve of the policy that most cards have instituted of offering a low rate unless you pay late. This policy transfers the cost of riskier accounts to the deadbeats, where it belongs. However, the large number of complaints lodged against Fleet gives me pause. Still, I pay all my bills electronically, and I think that's probably harder to fudge than the date a letter sent through the postal service was received. Also, not paying the rebate on time has nothing to do with when they paid their rebate.

Regards,

Barb
