Take a look at the cost of distillates on an MBTU basis vs NG costs.

At $0.75 per gallon #2 oil costs about $5.40 mbtu. Must add local delivery & margin to this price so maybe $6 mbtu for #2 oil. Transportation for NG to say the NE may add another $0.75 to Henry Hub of $4.25.

It would seem distillate would not be economical today. If you have a business consuming 100 mbtu a hour, how long would you burn the more expensive fuel?
