you can see if you have window's service pack 1 (sp1) by following this clickstream
start\settings\control panel\system
on the general tab, under 'system', you'll find....
operating system (ms win2000) build (5.00.2195) service pack 1
to check for browser encryption, in internet explorer, select menu option 'help', then 'about internet explorer', and read the second line, 'cipher strength'. hopefully it's 128.
for operating system encryption in win2000....
my win2000pro came in a box (i installed it, unlike yours that came preinstalled), and there was an accompanying floppy disk that contained the high encryption executable to load myself. you could check to see if you have that floppy with all the stuff that came with your puter.
