Ali, The paper you refer to is very interesting - it discusses the problems in implementing high-speed bus systems and ways of overcoming those problems using point to point links. It says: "Futurebus and Fastbus have gone about as far as is feasible in the use of shared transmission lines which form buses." Rambus clearly led the way to much higher performance than had been thought possible only a few years earlier when this paper was published in 1988. slac.stanford.edu John
