Bill, I've enjoyed your funny exchange. But allow me to interject a disagreement here. I played soccer from the age of 6 until well into my early 20's competitively. And those woosies on the football team with all their padding, helmets and time out breaks, couldn't hack what a real soccer practice or game was like. :)

I also played baseball and basketball. Those light workout sports kept me somewhat tuned up for soccer season. :)

If you haven't played the game at a serious level, it does look kinda sissy. But on the field it's anything but a sissy sport.

Funny about the tie breaker! I never liked that rule either.

Soccer in the United States is going to move toward the indoor variety IMO. Much like hockey, but faster paced without the childish hugging hockey dances. <gg>
