Jim, I rely on others who said they did not do it. I know double data rate methodism has been used for 30 years. That is the use of rising and falling edges as data instead of a rise and fall as a but, they use a transition. Hard drives do this too, from ages ago.

I rely on the judge to impose the limits. Of course Rambus wants it to cover the earth, but that is not to be. As for the markman decision, from what I read there is a need to attach limits to the retroactive modification of patents to include new things you just thiught of today into a ten year old patent. What a crock, a new patent should be applied for. The markman types of decisions are needed to establish limits that lawyers cannot flout by the use of ignorant judges, juries and even the patent office itself(who have actually granted new patents on things that have already been patented, but the description did not trigger the right search and so the old patents were not found and so new ones came along. Many $$ later it was straightened out.
As for Rambus. I feel they offended everyone with their attempts to force DDR to be dropped by high royalties. That is the smoking gun, IMO. They wanted it killed(DDR) because they knew they were on shaky ground. All the e-mails and other evidence has killed them and shown their black side.
