Tiger Paw--Regarding the most famous 'atheists' of the past century I would agree that Ayn Rand is not it. Bertrand Russell would seem a better canditate though he considered himself an agnostic feeling that the term 'atheist' did not apply as the existence or not of a God is not something that can be proved. He did not however believe in a god. Far more famous would be Mark Twain. The main argument against Twain would be in terms of what century embraces him. He did die in 1910 so certainly the 20th can lay some claim to him. All the Best Druss
