I thought I'd look around and try to get an estimate of how long it took the ambulance chasers to get around to suing various companies... The following data was sort of randomly located by following links around. I culled out cases that were first filed too long ago, as well as cases where it wasn't clear what the trigger was. But the delay looks like it is generally around a week:
