Re: USA MSO Stats - Top Five
Thread- These are figures as of December 31st, 2000. IMO they seem in the ballpark.
What seems odd, and I bring it up as I skim over the figures, is the annual revenues of all cablecos in the USA are supposed to be in the neighborhood of some $30 billion. If you take the ballpark figure of total subs being around 70 million, the math doesn't work out. At least strictly from a subscription revenue source.
I can't recall the exact percentages now, but I was under the belief that advertising was a smallish part of the revenue stream. Apparently I may be wrong.
AT&T broadband is on an annual run rate of approximately $10 billion. So the $30 billion overall cableco revenue figures seems just about right from this perspective.
Oh well just thought I would throw it out there in case someone knows the breakdown of the average cableco revenue stream. -MikeM(From Florida) _____________________
