You'd like us to believe you're joking, but I can tell you're so enamored with your perceived prescience that you can't look backwards for a few simple lessons. As we've noted many times on this thread history does not repeat itself but it often rhymes.

Your claims that technological innovation will somehow challenge natural monopolies over time has but only a small element of truth to it. Large companies have to get old, staid and stupid. It doesn't always happen. In the meantime the little guy is screwed and competition crushed.

I've talked to two guys who were well funded with good products and who got bk'ed by Microsoft. The only thing that has produced a kinder, gentler Bill Gates as of late is the DOJ anti-trust action and the threat of break up. He understands brute force because he's used it on so many himself.

Yeah, let's take one giant leap back into the past. We can do that whole anti-trust thing again. That was so much fun.
