It is shallow to think that that which is hard is easy. No one who had any deep insight into the matter would think so. As for making much of originality, what is true is true regardless of its origins, and, in any case, a lot of "original" thoughts merely reflect one's lack of education, so that what is hackneyed is offered by the callow as a novel insight.

When joy is the appropriate response to something, be joyous. When it is not, to be joyous is merely fatuous. To measure people's spiritual stature by whether they can maintain enthusiasm is shallow. It is like a mother who is constantly telling her children to smile, and intimidating them against sharing their actual feelings, because there is something wrong with them for not being upbeat.......
