Carl, after reading your first sentence above, I had to take a double look to be certain that it was one of your posts. I was taken back by such a rational statement coming from the King of the Fudsters. I agree with you completely on this one, but I am perplexed why you and your Bilow-wannabes crucify those who express beliefs differing from yours. Because you, or I, adhere to a particular belief does not make that issue a "fact." A wise person is aware of this, and regardless of how strongly they feel about an issue, they allow for the possibility that the other point of view could be right, or more likely, the truth could lie somewhere between. My profession revolves around probabilities, and that's what controversial issues are balanced on. I believe in the future of Rambus, as indicated by my current long position in the stock. If I thought that it was guilty of half the allegations posted here, I would conclude that I was wrong, sell my position, and move on to something else. I don't believe that this event will occur, but I am sufficiently reasonable to acknowledge that it has some positve probability which I presently assess as small.
Perhaps those who have convinced themselves that their view of Rambus is absolute should think about the religious analogy. For each of the hundreds of religions, there are millions of devout followers who are "certain" that theirs is the one true faith and all the others are shams. Consider the centuries of atrocities committed on the basis of religious beliefs.
No, I am not going to get into an exchange of religious views on this board. I only mention it in the hopes that each of us will be a little more tolerant of other points of view concerning Rambus, and allow for the possibility that the other side could eventually be proven right on some of the issues.
