What a difference a year makes. I was looking at the 10-Q filed today which included segment reporting for the first time. For Q1 2001 the Object Design business had operating income of $2.4 million and the B2B business had an operating loss of $6.9 million. So after all the excitement generated by the B2B side last year, it now appears the value lies with the Object Design business.

Assuming a flat year for Object Design, earnings will be around $10 million or 34 cents a share. That gives EXLN a PE of around 6.5 if you exclude the B2B business.

Given past history, lets assume a PE of no more than 10 is warranted for the Object Design business. This would still imply upside in the stock price of around 50% from current levels and you get the B2B business for free.
