The thing that always bugs me about job postings as a metric is that it tells you nothing about product volume, or the existing staff that the organizations already have on-board. If the companies looking for VxWorks programmers are shiiping twice as many lines of ATM gear as the companies looking for pSOS programmers (or vise versa), then it really isn't a dead heat. Unless you investigate the companies behind the want ads to see what their market share is, I'm not convinced that these ad statistics are very informative. -Dave Lehenky
