| Pat, That pastor, as an individual in the church, is going far beyond the precepts of the Bible, and should be driven from his pulpit. He is no closer to God than any other mortal human, as no Catholic priest is any closer to God than any other ordinary man. It is mere mortals like those kind of men, and women, that give serious Christians a bad name. If any person does not want to be treated like a lemming, get out of that particular pastor's church. He is not behaving according to the words of Jesus Christ, and should be ignored. That kind of pastor is what drove me away from Christianity in my early twenties, and it took 40 years to find my way back. IMO all of the old denominations are tainted by the interference of humans who have changed the doctrines, throughout the years, to suit their particular human beliefs, and have twisted scripture to try and justify their personal agendas. I will have nothing to do with them. |
