Why buy smaller blocks when you can generate some more noise
with those big blocks. I think when those trades crossed
they caught a bit of attention and possibly some more short term
upside. I see your point as well, but I think buying big blocks
pulls in some momentum investors and gets some shorts thinking
about covering.
