i was just trying out the copy
and paste technique where you
put the mouse on the url and
you click the left mouse button
and the whole thang turns blue.
and then i pasted it into a
whole nother thread. <G>
but seriously dude,
there are not many people like you.
how many people would go out of their way
to sit and write detailed instructions
on how to copy and paste to someone who
had not even asked? that is effortful!
obviously not me. i just made a funnie
and went on to other tasks.
i posted that on Tekboy's SI Highlights thread
because i think it IS a highlight! it's
like watching a homeless dude out on civic
plaza panhandling... and everyone shrugs or
looks the other way and keeps on walkin';
then someone like you walks up, encounters
the dude and reaches in and pulls five dollars
out of his wallet and hands it to him. not only
that, but he stays there for 10 full minutes
talking to the smiling homeless bastard who
hasn't had a decent conversation with another
human being for over 30 days... and he listens
to the story of where he's from, why he doesn't
have any damn money, how he's trying to get work,
how he used to be a cook (framer, clerk, etc.),
and listens to him say, "God bless You Brother"
about 10 more times than he wants to hear it.
and it makes you ask yerself, "why didn't i do that?"
"am i that busy?, poor?, cheap?, jaded? that i can't
put out ten minutes of effort for someone else once
a day or week or month?"
i'm not trying to make anyone feel
guilty - i'm talking to my SELF! about
my SELF! i pass up too many opportunities
to extend a hand because it takes effort.
and i am glad there are people like you
around and in my life that are an example of
the effort involved in love and
friendship.
it will pay you well clappy. you will
SLEEP very well and in time, the people
around you will grow to be very good people.
some of it is rubbing off on me.
now i'm off to copy and paste something
