I don't think even too late would do it. Only if Intel ran into a K6-3 style brick wall, and were convinced that there was no chance of ever getting through it, would Dell seriously consider Athlon4. It would have to be never, rather than too late.

And I think it's too soon for Intel to be giving up on Tualatin (although the frequencies shown in roadmaps do seem to indicate a pretty severe near term scaling problem).

If Dell does announce an Athlon4 notebook I'm going to start carrying an umbrella wherever I go - to shield myself from the falling poop of all those flying pigs....
