cb...i didn't state that burning coal is safe under current regs, perhaps a misunderstanding...the intent was that the current technology for stack emission cleaning doesn't impact the environment as much as the epa claims. it's the last percent of cleanup under current regs that does not give a roi for the utilities.

fly ash is being recycled as building material...not as much as can be, but a start has been made...

i'd rather live in a world with a healthy economy, abundant energy, and a bit less then 100% pure air....air quality has been a lot worse, and the world survived...no different then preventing a new hydro project to save a rare fish....

compromise must be made for progress...if it hadn't been made, we would not be having this dialogue...probably just tilling the fields, breathing clean air, drinking pure water and dying at forty from consumption...

"progress is our most important product"
"better living through chemistry"
