I disagree. AMD will win market share away from Intel (or not), based on three factors: performance, availability, or price. Building more fabs improves both availability and price, and spending for advanced technology improves performance.

That's why they call the chip industry a no-limit poker table. Outspending the other guy tends to be a very successful tactic.
