Been thinking exactly the same thing. At this point, the only CEOerly thing Bramson can do is put the whole thing up for sale. Not just ADS but all the assets.

The ideas have been good but the Net climate has turned outright hostile. With the collapse of banner advertising, streaming assets, long term, may have strong value. Ampex's assets most likely fit this profile. In sum. there is unrealized value here for the not too distant future.

My ungrounded fear, is that Bramson will not be sufficiently flexible enough to balance realities with a penchant for hard nosed negotiations. Realize that once a sale is completed, then he is out of a job and out of the environments to express his ego - which I sure must be considerable.

I don't recall the price at which BCST went, those were very very different times, but I seem to recall rhe number was ridiculous (hundred of millions). Bramson would not get anywhere near that. I figure 150MM - 50 for ADS, 50 for the patent portfolio and 50 for iNEXTV and ITG.

I've noticed surprising little discussion here and on Yahoo of an outright sale but these thing are done all the time. The key is value. Does Ampex have assets which are unique and valuable at this time?
