After I saw RMBS hit a low today of 11.00, I put in a buy stop order GTC, for $14.00.
Way I look at it, I'd be trying to catch it on the rebound, without trying to know/guess where the bottom is. If it drops further, I'd just lower my buy stop price.


Interesting approach. I've thought of that before, but I had assumed that if one puts in a "buy" at a price that is above current prices, that one's order would be automatically filled at the lower price. Guess I'm exposing my ignorance here.

Why is it, particularly with internet mediated stock trading, that the programs would not assume that the buyer would be happy to make a purchase at a level below the "buy" limit?
