"If I WRITE (not buy) the June $30.00 put contract against 500 shares of AMD.....I instantly pocket the $2.80 premium ($1400 total). Then on the third week of June...if AMD closes at $29.9999 or less......I must sell my shares at that price.
Do I have this correct?

No, no, no...If you buy puts at $30(option 1 surely lets you do that), you have the right to sell shares to someone for $30 for the term of the options contract...Conversely if you sell (i.e. write) puts at $30.00 (which I doubt level 1 will allow you to do)someone has the right to "put" or sell their shares to you for $30.00 during the term of the contract...

This seems like a nice way to get more upside on AMD with no cash outlay given my feeling that this stock is on its way up. As you may remember I am level 1 options so I cannot BUY options....I can only write covered options. Any advice?

Seems to me level 1 might only allow you to write call options against the shares you have purchased, not write puts!!!
