ST trading: This is why I'm betting the other way, for short-term trades, at the moment. AMAT gives guidance 20 cents lower than the analyst consensus, we get a bunch of downgrades the next day, and the stock is up strongly. Since the April bottom, the market has been ignoring bad news. Investors care more about Fed cuts than about poor near-term company results. And the Fed is making stocks risk-free, for the moment. I think there will be a time (later this year) to load up on puts again, but the shortterm trend is up. My signal to go back to the Dark Side, will be when the Fed goes to a neutral bias, and when investors start reacting to company-specific news again.
