Well I did say "post war"....I'm talking the modern era...
I really think that this is unrealistic to compare today with the 30's.
The best argument of the shorts IMO is the collapse of the nifty fifty and the oil price explosion of the seventies...

Comparsions with Japan is comparing apples and oranges IMO. They had banking problems and a culture that preferred to save rather than spend.......OK in good times but not the proper recipe for recessionary times. Besides as I recall they didn't cut rates until too late. AG is ahead of the curve......The guy's a freakin genius......
