What is so terrible about saying he hadn't sold a share?

Did I just imagine the reports that he is now contradicting those statements? What good is "this is what I'm doing" if it turns out it ain't so?

So he made a mistake. That means he should be crucified?

Why do you insist that that must be the reason?

I'll tell you what it is. William Harmond is a proud, boastful, arrogant individual. There admittedly exist a great many people, even among those relatively few of us left on SI, who match that description as well, but they tend strongly to have a track record which at least partway justifies their grand self-image.

Bill has pride in his supposed skill vastly out of proportion with his actual skill. He is drunk off his successes in 1999 and is either in denial about or lying about his performance in 2000.

I cannot respect that.
