Hi Paul,

Do you happen to have the URL for the piece you posted on the inaccuracies in the Drosophila sequence?

This hit piece reminds me of the typical bitchiness and backstabbing of academic researchers. As Dinesh D'Souza said so eloquently, the reason that academic battles are so fierce is because the stakes are so small....

Eventually, we'll get a 100% accurate version of both Drosophila and Homo Sapiens sequence. But not for a few more years in either case. Considering that CRA has been using the available sequences from the Publicly Funded Project (PFP) and comparing its own sequencing results to the PFP's, I'm rather mystified at the vituperative nature of Carlin's attack. Seems based more on jealousy than fact.

JMHO, Ray :)
