Pullbacks, Pullbacks

If we are indeed in a Fed-induced rally mode (and I am coming round to the idea that we are in for a really nice summer of long trading, but only after a brief but scary selloff at some point in the very near future), then I plan on going back to the BTTT-Classic strategy (long) of playing pullbacks. Here SMA's are the key: 20, 40/50, and 200. This strategy requires a) trend analysis, and b) entry buy signals. Generally it works like this (on any time frame; 5-min. for daytrades, hourly for swingtrades; and daily for position trades):

-screen for stocks in an uptrend using any one of the following: bullish MACD crossover below the 0-line (I prefer using a 12-26-9 setup, but others work as well); short/longterm MAX (18/40 is used by Van Nice; 15/50 also works well); or simply an upsloping 20MA...

-enter with positive uptrend indicated using a leading oscillator (I prefer Stoch. at 14); or MOC on a close above a trading MA, like either 20 or 50...

-exit on the bearish oscillator signal; or MOC on a close below a trading MA...

This chart of BRCD shows 2 such long signals: one in early March, which was a false signal for a small loss (MACD went green early March, with a Stoch. buy signal) and again early April for 20+ points! Chart: 207.61.23.99
