Hewlett-Packard (HWP) 26.74 +1.34: -- Update -- On call, company saying gross margins should trend up for the rest of the year.
AprQ gross margin was 26.7%, down 50bp from JanQ due to lower volume. Expecting gross margin to improve due to 1) a weaker yen,
2) higher storage margin due to new products, 3) improving laser jet momentum, 4) higher consulting fees and 5) higher sales of
Superdome (a new UNIX server). In fact, only 60% of Superdome shipments have been recognized as revenue....stock trading at 27.68.

Utd Parcel Svc (UPS) 58.07 +0.37: Company board approves purchase of up to $1.3 bln of its stock; see press release.

Integr Measure (IMSC) 12.81 -0.46: Company to be acquired by Credence Systems (CMOS) in a stock swap valued at
approximately $170 mln. Each share of IMSC stock will be converted into 0.90 shares of Credence common stock on a fixed exchange
ratio basis; see press release.

Cymer (CYMI) 30.17 -0.83: Company continues to anticipate a Q2 revenue decline between 18 and 22% from Q1 revenue of $91.2
mln; see press release.

Credence Systems (CMOS) 24.76 +1.39: Reports Q2 loss of $0.26 a share, $0.08 worse than the First Call consensus of ($0.18), vs
year-ago earnings of $0.63; revenues fell 71.8% to $43.29 mln from a year-ago of $153.75 mln. "Our business, particularly with the
semiconductor outsourcing and foundry sector, has turned down dramatically in the past two quarters," said Dr. Graham Siddall, President

Sanmina (SANM) 32.04 +1.13: Company files $2 bln mixed securities shelf registration.

Hewlett-Packard (HWP) 26.74 +1.34: -- Update -- Call just getting underway. In press release, company said that this was clearly a
tough quarter, but there are also signs of real progress. In its consumer business, revenues declined 8%, but HWP maintained or gained
share in every category. As for JulQ, company believes current consensus EPS estimates are reasonable. However, given continuing
deterioration in key economic indicators and increasing global uncertainty, HWP broadened the revenue range slightly from flat to flat to
down 5%....Stock trading up to 27.70.

PSINet (PSIX) 0.1875: Company files SEC Form 12b-25 indicating that it will not be able to file its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended
March 31, 2001 within the prescribed time period; see press release.

Polaroid (PRD) 4.80 -0.01: Company announced the sale of its office and manufacturing complex near the Cambridge Reservoir in
Waltham for approximately $70 mln; see press release.

Advanced Digital (ADIC) 23.85 +1.45: -- Update -- Company gives second half guidance; sees consolidated growth rates in 2H01 of
30-35%.

CSX Corp (CSX) 39.40 +1.62: Company issues press release on yesterday's runaway train in Ohio. CSX says that human error was
the cause, and all mechanical equipment was found to be working as intended; see press release.

Metro One (MTON) 46.35 +2.30: Company declares a 3:2 stock split of common shares, payable June 29.

Vicinity (VCNT) 1.58 -0.02: Reports Q3 loss of $0.18 a share, $0.01 better than the First Call consensus of ($0.19); revenues rose
11.9% to $4.86 mln from a year-ago of $4.34 mln; see press release.

AnnTaylor (ANN) 36.40 +1.92: Reports Q1 earnings of $0.37 a share, $0.03 better than the First Call consensus of $0.34, vs
year-ago earnings of $0.55; revenues rose 10.8% to $307.09 mln from a year-ago of $277.07 mln. Company continues to project EPS
for Q2 to be in the range of $0.28 - $0.32; see press release.

After Hours Action : CFLO is the big gainer after hours, trading up over 1 pt to 9.56 after saying it sees signs of recovering demand in
the enterprise sector. Other movers (changes vs close): HWP +0.75, ADIC +0.35.

Thermo Electron (TMO) 26.07 +0.36: Company reaffirms guidance of 8% internal revenue growth and $1.00 cash operating EPS for
2001; see press release.

Advanced Digital (ADIC) 23.92 +1.52: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.15 a share, in line with the First Call consensus of $0.15, vs
year-ago earnings of $0.14; revenues rose 46.0% to $94.78 mln from a year-ago of $64.90 mln; see press release.

CacheFlow (CFLO) 8.36 +0.78: Reports Q4 loss of $0.35 a share, $0.04 better than the First Call consensus of ($0.39); revenues rose
68.2% to $21.52 mln from a year-ago of $12.79 mln. For Q1, revenue is expected to be flat sequentially, anticipates 10% - 15%
sequential quarterly revenue growth in subsequent quarters; see press release.

Niku Corp (NIKU) 1.38 +0.03: Reports Q1 loss of $0.54 a share, in line with the First Call consensus of ($0.54); revenues rose 96.9%
to $16.97 mln from a year-ago of $8.62 mln. The company took non-recurring, non-cash charges of $24.5 mln for asset impairment and
other costs, which consisted primarily of goodwill from acquisitions; see press release.
