The comparison between "science and the bible" is inherently invalid, and comments like this:

science (though often proven wrong by itself through later discovery) is taught as infallible in our public schools.

demonstrate a complete lack of awareness of what science is. Science is not a fixed set of beliefs or an established dogma. It is, first and foremost, a method and a process. If a belief arrived at scientifically is later changed after new evidence becomes available, that does not mean that "science" has been "proven wrong". It means that the scientific method has permitted further evolution. That's a vindication of science, not an invalidation of science.

scientists have been duped countless times

Are you trying to say that scientists have made mistakes? Or do you really think that they were "duped"? Who do you think duped them?

As for what is taught in public schools, I have no objection to the inclusion of both science and mythology being included in the public curriculum. I do think that some care should be taken to distinguish between the two.
