Dear Uncle Frank, I appreciate your concern about forms of presentation on this thread, especially the use of "gritty" metaphors. Since I do not recall any objections from you with regard to the recent post, Message 15811481 , I am forced to guess that the following excerpt is a good example to follow: "your post #42686 leaves me with the sort of feeling I get if someone lets there dog poop on my lawn and isn't courteous enough to clean it up."
Concerning "negative comments about individuals holding differing or even incorrect opinions", I apologize for disturbing your calm thread, and cordially agree that individuals may state their opinions as long as they indentify them as such. However, if an individual dresses his "incorrect" opinion as a cornerstone fact, as it was in the post #42668, "the one DDR savings grace: it is cheap, is no longer the case. RDRAM price premium is comparable to DDR", I reserve the right to point the mistake out, which I exercised in a relatively polite form. Unfortunately, the individual, instead of admitting the obvious stretch, has decided to back up his ludicrous claim with several points, each of them being totally false. I can't believe that a reasonable and honest individual can stretch the truth to such extent, especially if he was pointed out to several logical and factual flaws in his reasoning before, on the same SI thread. Please bear in mind that the cost is a cornerstone issue in the whole Rambus memory business, alone with questionable performance benefits.
