With Sharp as a customer, every major Japanese notebook maker has introduced at least one Crusoe-based product less than a year after Transmeta shipped the first Crusoe microprocessors in September 2000.

Transmeta's penetration in the region is significant given the combined market size of Japan and Asia/Pacific for mobile PCs, which is nearly equal to the U.S. mobile PC market. There were 2,194,306 combined mobile units shipped in Japan and Asia/Pacific in the fourth quarter of 2000, compared to 2,206,474 mobile units shipped in the U.S. during the same period. (Source: Gartner Dataquest's Worldwide PC Quarterly Statistics, April 11, 2001.)

The market doesn't give a damn as of today. But once the lingering concern of insider selling is gone and shorts start to cover, this stock can make some good move upward.
