Fin, <Based on what I'm seeing from the AMD roadmap, the K8 series isn't for your desktop, so it won't really be competing against P4... It will be trying to face off against IA-64 in the form of a 0.13 micron version of McKinley... or better...> Unless I'm mistaken, the first K8 will be Clawhammer, and that's meant for desktops and workstations. AMD's plans for the high-end revolve around Sledgehammer, which according to the roadmap enables 4-way and 8-way SMP. That is AMD's real answer to McKinley. Of course, it's looking like Clawhammer won't be here until even after McKinley, so there's no telling how far Sledgehammer will slip, if it even makes it to market. Tenchusatsu
