I personally don't think the patent issue would ever get to litigation. All the vendors I have spoken to have indicated a willingness to pay if need be. Of course they won't go out of their way to pay, but if they get into discussions with Amati I personally think it would be resolved in an amicable fashion.

All sides realize that the bigger picture is a lot more important & there is no benefit in tying up resources & money on litigation especially since the results would be a minor figure when compared to the earnings potential in selling products or even chipsets. I have also seen Amati statements showing their willingness to be 'reasonable' on this issue.
