RIM wins patent to protect technology, sues Glenayre TORONTO, May 17 (Reuters) - Research In Motion (NasdaqNM:RIMM - news) said on Thursday it had won a patent to protect its mailbox technology, and is suing Glenayre (NasdaqNM:GEMS - news) Electronics Inc. for infringing on its trademark and its patent. RIM, which makes two-way Blackberry pagers, said U.S. Patent No. 6,219,694 lets it claim ownership over its single mailbox integration technology that enables a user of its devices to read, compose, forward and reply to e-mail to a desktop computer using only one address.
