PCCW-Telstra Venture Looking At Singapore's MobileOne

HONG KONG -- Regional Wireless, a 60-40 joint venture between Australia's Telstra Corp. (TLS) and Hong Kong's Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (PCW), is looking at the possibility of bidding for Singapore's MobileOne Pte., or M1, Alex Arena, PCCW's deputy chairman, said Tuesday.
"Regional Wireless is looking at that asset," though he said, "whether we make a bid for it, it's too early to say."
PCCW already owns 15% of M1, which is up for sale.
M1 is considered a good choice for Regional Wireless as the company moves to expand in Asia.
