Analog Devices and Samsung Continue Mass Deployment of DSL in Korea --Samsung selects ADI's DSL chipsets for new rounds of deployment being undertaken by Korea Telecom--
NORWOOD, Mass., May 17 /PRNewswire/ --Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI - news) announced today that Samsung Electronics has once again selected ADI's chipsets for a new round of DSL deployment being undertaken by Korea Telecom. This is a continuation of the world's single largest deployment of DSL with over 1 million lines already deployed in Korea within the past year alone. With Korea Telecom's selection of Samsung, 609,000 new DSL lines will be deployed in the region during the second half of 2001. ADI's DSL chipsets are at the heart of Samsung's solutions for both central office (CO) and customer premises equipment (CPE) with COpperhead quad-port chipsets incorporated into its line card and ADI's AD20msp930 chipsets in Ethernet and PCI modems.
