Gas won't get cheaper unless hybrids take over. Then gas price will only remain constant. This is due to the fact that there is a primary and almost unremovable constraint on refinery capacity. SUVs are another fad just like station wagons were. So how smart has a buyer of an SUV been? They get the privilege of being like someone else at a safety cost from higher center of gravity. Real smart and yuppy liberal. His statement didn't prove anything except that liberals are idiots and create more problems with their pseudo solutions.
